Sara A. Florini is a Master's Public History student at The American University in Washington, D.C. She is interested in working as a Public Historian at a museum, historic battlefield or landscape, or as a company's contracted historian. Sara interned with Visitor Services at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum from January 2011 until August 2011. Recently, she completed an independent oral history research project in the D.C. area. Her research aimed to record the histories of people in the deaf and hard of hearing community.

Sara A. Florini participated in an independent oral history research project in the D.C. area. Her research aimed to record the histories of people in the deaf and hard of hearing community. Her project also focused on the methodology behind conducting an interview within this community. She learned how to use professional recording technology and Audacity.

Sara A. Florini participated in the national Days of Remembrance. She escorted Holocaust survivors and liberators to the ceremony in the United States Capitol Rotunda. Sara researched the biographies of Holocaust victims for Days of Remembrance: Names Reading ceremony. Her main responsibilities included assistance with operations of the Holocaust Museum including: roving exhibit floors to monitor patrons and protect artifacts, crowd control, school group organization and orientation to permanent exhibit, information desk, and enforcement of museum safety. Sara also facilitated educational presentations by Holocaust survivors for student groups.
